Carbon offsetting

Why offset carbon?

Flights release CO₂ into the atmosphere - this greenhouse gas is created when fossil fuels like oil, gas and coal are burnt.

A certain level of greenhouse gas is a good thing. It creates a blanket around the Earth, keeping the surface the right temperature and helping sustain life. But if we release too much CO₂, the blanket gets thicker and our atmosphere gets warmer. This is why our climate is changing.
